Introducing: Project RAW
Ladies! It is that time of year when we all think about setting our new fitness goals. Even us, as Fitness Coaches, start setting our new goals and strive towards some challenging achievements. In fact, one of our Fitness Coaches, Johnnie Douglas, has made a huge commitment to fitness that we are all very excited about.
In March, 2010, Johnnie will be competing in the Bikini Competition at the Kentucky Northern. About 5 weeks ago, she began her stringent exercise and diet program and is doing great with it! Of course, there are days that are more difficult than others, but she is determined and very committed.
In order for everyone to track her progress and see some of the challenges she will be facing over these next few months, we have decided to follow Johnnie through the entire experience by keeping a video diary, a blog and a Twitter account for what we are calling, Project RAW. You will get to see the raw, uncut videos and stories of the hard work and intense training and dedication that Johnnie is facing. It won’t always be pretty – but it will be real.
Some of you have asked over the past few weeks why I am not doing this. I have considered it but I’m not sure it’s my thing. Or, maybe I should confess that the idea of being on stage in a bikini and heels freaks me out a bit. I might also add that Rick, who is helping train Johnnie, told me I would change my mind someday. But for now I will be working our booth at this competition and doing my best to keep one of my best buds motivated on the days she just feels like dying.
I will say though, all of this “competition talk” has motivated me to set some new fitness and diet goals for myself. After all, bikini season is right around the corner! I am going to follow Johnnie’s diet (with the exception of not giving up my Better’n Peanut Butter) and do some of the workouts with her. By us doing this together, we will keep each other motivated and who knows what next year’s competition might bring. For Johnnie, Project RAW is all about the competition and pushing herself to new extremes. For me, I am doing it to hit some personal goals.
No matter what your fitness goals are for 2010, the Fitness Coaches at Keep It Tight Fitness are here to help you! If you are just looking to loose those unwanted pounds that you gained over the holidays, we will push you to do that as well.
